This one's for Level 3s - Leek news.

in this week's Leek Post and Times - I'll bring the paper in tomorrow ... in the meantime, read this because it might help with your brief.

New Projects

Well everyone, our profile is ever expanding. Bandujo are presenting one of our student team's virals for the HIV brief to the client - might see it's way into production ... for the New York health Dept. not bad eh? well done Rav, Zakra (on a year out) and Sam Nuttall (graduate and grown-up now). They also want to pitch the Mastercard Spoof - was that Gordon's team? Received endorsement and support from Stoke Council for our Intensive Programme brief with Unis in Antwerp and Breda, and for the EU EFCCE Brief as well. Yes are implementing our winning student team's proposals for their website re-design ... watch this space for a link to that when it's live. Just received a request for a live brief with the RSPCA ... and a high profile one in Brussells that I can't say too much about just yet. Keep it going ABMers!!!

Direct Holidays microsite

Busy doing level 3s work for them again ... sigh .... this is a new microsite for Direct Holidays that has social networking functionality enabling tourists to share experiences. I'm thinking Leek brief?

Here's the writeup from the Drum:

"Outside The Box, the marketing agency based in Leeds, has launched a new microsite for client, Direct Holidays, part of the Thomas Cook group. Building on OTB’s work on the ‘The Direct Effect – make it last as long as you can' promotion, currently running on Direct Holiday’s website and throughout their current campaign, the team is launching ‘The Big Picture’ microsite.

This microsite provides a social networking facility to build on customer advocacy, including an invitation for Direct Holiday holiday makers to post their comments about their holiday.

Says Eleanor Sheppard, head of marketing at Direct Holidays: "The best reviewers are always those who have just returned and our holidaymakers tend to want to make their views known. We can rely on these reviews to be frank and forthright, so what better way to get the low down on your potential holiday whether you want to know more about the location, facilities or nightlife ... it’s all part of our aim to ensure our customers get what they expect with no surprises."

New networking site for ABMers

Thought I'd use the blog-o-sphere to introduce a new Networking site created specifically by, and for, ABM students. Steve Ward, our resident IT Guy, has designed and is admin-ing it. The webby address is:

Please note this site is endorsed by the ABM Management!!

Leek brief with Level 3s

Got the ball rolling today with a cracking live brief. Level 3s rebranding and proposing brand comms for Leek and Staffordshire Moorlands (or Staffordshire Peak District as it should be known). Less than 12 weeks to come up with long term sustainable brand strategies and 2 pitches before a winning team emerges. There's so much research and thinking to do particularly with place branding being such a big issue in the current economic climate. Will update regularly as the project evolves.
